Busy Busy Busy....

Again I have had an absence due to my schedule....school, work, family, repeat. I am happy to say that I am entering my last full week of classes for this semester. My Digital Media class has improved my skills in photoshop among several other media programs...my geology class...meh lol. But with the end of the semester comes the beginning of a busy Summer season at Disney. Before that, however, I will be taking a trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to celebrate my cousin's high school graduation. I hope to take some photos of whats down there and maybe take a nice (and responsible) trip to New Orleans. I would love to take some photos of the Mississippi River, Jackson Square, Bourbon Street, and the French Quarter. If I am able to do so...I will work on them as soon as I can and get things going on here again. On a side note....being a So.Cal sports fan has been a roller coaster this last month. The Ducks lost in game 7 last night against Detroit and the Angels have a poor record. I hope that the team will start improving now before it's too late. Anyway I will catch you all later!

Angels Home opener

It was a great day at the Anaheim Angels home opener (despite their 5-9 loss to Oakland). We got there about an hour before game time in section 347 Club Level, front row...woot woot!! Compared to opening day for the Dodgers last week there was less pomp and circumstance for the Angels for a couple of reasons: it wasn't the "official" opening day of baseball, and the Angels didn't have new owners nor stadium improvements to show off this year. Not saying it was a bad thing, but I had higher expectations for my first Angels Opener. The gentleman who sang the National Anthem was the best I heard ANYONE sing the song, no fancy octave changes nor the unnecessary use of vibrato...I hear to many of that as it is. The fly by was amazing! It was difficult to tell but it looked like a group of Wildcats (I am probably incorrect because Wildcats and Hellcats are mostly single-seaters and the ones I saw looked to be double) from Chino airbase most likely. C.J Wilson had a rough start at the beginning giving up 4 runs, but after 2 innings he found his grove and was playing very well. Unfortunately the rest of the Angels pitchers that night couldn't hold the +1 lead and eventually lost out in the 7th. To make matters worse, I just heard my pitcher, Weaver, is on the DL list for a small fracture in his arm. He is said to come back mid-May, but still a full month into the season is a long time to see a star pitcher on the mound. No matter what happened during the game, I still look forward to the baseball season for the Angels. I just hope they work on one thing they always have trouble on: Men Left On Base (LOB)!!!!! Their percentage was awful...but oh well. See you at the next game!! (Or if I have photos to update by then I will be updating soon.

Almost Here!

So the home opener of the Anaheim/California Angels is happening tomorrow night!!! (please note that I did not say Los Angeles Angels...thats just rediculous) Anyway, I will be attending the game with great company and have seats in the club level! Don't ask me how I got the tickets or what club level is...you will have to ask stubhub.com for that. I hope to get some cool and fun photos to document the experience and upload them here if I think they are pretty good. But...before the game...Buffalo Wild Wings!!!!!!!!! See you at the game!

Updates

I FINALLY had some time today and got to work on this blog again. The update in general is a small start to what I can hopefully gather and refine within the next couple of months. A big push for me is the return of Americas Favorite Pastime (baseball for those who have never heard that phrase). To start it off I was able to attend 2 exhibition games between the Anaheim Angels and Los Angeles Dodgers. I am aware that the Angels are the "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim", but a true Angels fan would never call them that because its just plain silly...California or Anaheim Angels FTW! Anyway, in addition I got the opportunity to experience my first opening day ever at Dodgers Stadium. Look, I am not a Dodgers fan, but baseball is baseball no matter who is playing. It was a great experience with all the pomp and circumstance, the beginning of the season, and seeing sports greats like Lasorda, the great announcer Vin Scully, Orel Hershiser, and an unexpected first pitch change from Magic Johnson to the great Sandy Koufax. It was a fun and memorable experience indeed. My real excitement, however, lies in the upcoming Angels home opener on April 9th against Oakland. I don't know what to expect nor what surprises will be in store. I have been doing a lot of thinking and enjoying photography lately. I have been taking quite a bit of photos lately but haven't published too many. I look forward to changing that in the next coming weeks and months. For the heck of it I have been passively looking into sports photography: becoming a sports photographer, equipment, networking, etc. Its something I am becoming interested in. I also collect baseball cards on the side and even thought about how it might be fun to become a trading card photographer...hmmmm....we'll see I guess.

My absence is over!!

Sorry for not updating this for about a month but I have been very busy during the Holiday season..especially when it comes to working. The Holiday season brought long work hours with family/friend get-togethers that drew me away from side hobbies such as this blog. I do bring good news...last week I returned from a trip from Walt Disney World. I have a good number of photos that will be posted in the coming days once I go through them and decide which ones I want to share. To help develop my photography skills as well as my knowledge of Digital Media all together. I am happy to say that I enrolled in a Digital Media class to help myself out. Take care for now...please be on the lookout for new content! -Andy
